I ordered the HVR-1300, so once I get it I will tell you if the hardware encoder works with the analog input or if a software encoder is required.

audio out of sync

I got a 1/2 sec out of sync between audio and video. I tried several videorenders and codecs (although many gave me errors like: pin error, codec not found...).
