Best settings for ProgDVB and controls

Hi!
I like ProgDVB, it works better then my default program for my DVB-T Asus card.

There are things I'd like to know:

1) What codec is best? When using "VMR9", interlacing is very obvious. "Video Renderer" is less "interlaced", but I can't set brightness and contrast. Also "Prog DVB Video Render" is good, but the screen does not have fixed ratio (4:3) and I don't know hot to turn it on and I also can't set it full screen. Which leads me to the second question:

2) Where is the list of control keys or can I set them myself? In fullscreen I can only change volume (with mouse scroll).

Thanks

What codec is best?
you can read , search , test ... for me nVidia !!

I think VMR9 depend on DirecX9 is the best render and gives more quality than other renders .
I can't set brightness and contrast
Maybe this is graphic card issue ( Driver or the card itself ) u can control these function from filter property < File === > property >
2) Where is the list of control keys or can I set them myself? In fullscreen I can only change volume (with mouse scroll).
easily : settings == > controls == > double click for and command == > learn ( choose between remote , mouse , Keyboard

If there were any world wide 'best settings', those had been implemented, of course. And then all that settings controls and options simply won't be there...

But as every computer system is different, and several components do have quite some influence, Prog decided, to make his software as flexible and compatible as possible, by this allowing you to customize to your needs and likings.

There must be reasons for people, to go for computer components instead of (a bit more) easy to use STBs.
And even that reasons DO differ...

As this is a quite complex issue, and lifetime is limited, and we're not getting paid for this at all, we cannot provide completely individual lessons for everybody in the world.
Instead of that we have this board, that's meant to be a knowledge archive in the first place, allowing you to read and search a lot, before posting your special questions.
To make that easier for you, some important threads have been made sticky.
So please, first (at least try to) find out, if your issue has been discussed before.

This depends on your VGA hardware, pretty much.

If I may add one more question:

Can I set my controls so that key-up and key-down actually change channels? I tried but I was unable to even the keys, so I edited them directly. But still, it only moves in the channel list, not actually swithich between channels. I'd also like left and right to be as volume controls, but without luck :(
Are these keys something special?

In controls menu there's a " Command line " point to function ; the best way to change channels Keyboard/remote is to set a key for show osd channellist and by default it's " L " letter then u can use it with arrows to change between channels and satellites

You have to avoid double entries for keys and controls, both must be unique.
If channel change is not executed, try a key for
/Exec
This may be a GUI focus issue in some cases.

Zapping with a remote control was very easy in progdvb 4.x (NextChannel, PrevChannel, NextFolder, PrevFolder - all cycling) and I'm missing it badly in progdvb 5.x
Is there a big Problem in a .NET environment implementing this commands?

with my 7900GTX GO im using 156.69

maybe try a little older of a driver, the newer drivers are for DX10 cards really

also, if you are having problems with drivers, go back to your manufacturers default drivers for the time being until you can find some decent ones

I did not find good quality using Windows 8 such like Windows 7
Win7 is better.
DirectX Vmr9 also did not enhance the view in Win8
Prog need a new version building on Netframe Work 4.0 or 4.5 to be ready to Windows 8 users..
ProgDVB also losing response for a while when I close it... it is not like other programs... when you click the "x" botton close directly.
Overall I love ProgDVB because it is the best "Sat" program among all of the other programs.
