What CAM and subscriber card do you use?
Do you also lose audio and video with no card in, else exactly as before?

my CAM is a AlphaCrypt Light.
Subscriber is Kabel Deutschland.

When I remove the subscriber card, switching back works perfectly with audio and video.

I found out that the phenomenon depends on the channel I switch to.
On some only audio works (ZDF). On others video and audio is fine (3sat). A few shows no video and no audio (Das Erste).

Switching around does not change the situation on a particular channel.

Opening the options menu and pushing OK solves the problem.

As there are several different crypt systems used on German cable, and because in some cable networks they will be changed from those used by the known satellite distribution paths, please list the important IDs for the stations you've mentioned.
Include crypt relevant identifiers for one or two of the red ones involved.
May well be, there's more than one crypt system on your cable, let us know then.

BTW, does it matter, which red signal you were on in between? Also compare with one you can't open ATM, like a PPV channel.
Also provide video resolution and audio characteristics, if they are not really identical on all stations involved.

And let us know your relevant system data, like codec / renderer / graph, for example. Switching back to FTA may even be related with those

So Prog needs data like this, as he cannot connect to your cable system from Russia (nor could I from here, due to no full cable service booked / DVB-C being filtered out by hardware and no DVB-C device anyway).

unfortunately I'am not sure which information is important for you/prog exactly.

The CA-type and "ID" of red signals is always the same, ECM/EMM changes:

i.e. CA: QAM 256, SR 6900
Type ECM EMM ID

0x1722 5991(0x1767) 0x1767 00
TID: 10008 NID: 61441

FTA channels: QAM 64, SR 6900
1. (audio and video fails) TID: 1101, NID: 1
2. (only video fails) TID: 1079, NID: 1

It's no matter from which encrypted channel I switch back.
The problem on a particular FTA channel remains and does not depend on a special red signal.

I currently use the standard elcard codec and VMR7 for all channels. Changing them does not solve the problem.

This should matter.
Which one are you really using, means, do you use an pld style Betacrypt / D-box compatible subscriber card (1722) then, or a modern plain Nagra2 card, that requires modern certified receivers / CAMs (using 1801 then)?
Have not played around with such subscriber cards and CAMs for years now, so I can't tell if there's a way to find out, which type is actually used. perhaps the CAM dialogue can help.

Theoretically this looks like the CSA hardware stage is not getting resetted properly when returning to FTA, like zero value for ECM being ignored at the first time.

Hope, Prog will read this now and get a clue, where to look after....

The card options do not show any information regarding the standard.
I suppose its nagra2 as the card itself has a printed nagravision label,
and normally a certified receiver is required (the subscriber told me).

The two different cards in fact are both delivered by Nagravision.
But one version is specially adapted by a special bridge chip, to use Betacrypt / Irdeto 1 standard externally and by this be able to cooperate with old d-boxes with a Betacrypt CAM integrated. Inside of that 'Beta tunneling' card there is a second controller, that uses Nagra2. These cards are still using ID 0x1722.
The normal version uses plain Nagravision, operating over 0x1801.
So, in your case, obviously returning from 0x1801 to zero fails on the first try, but also depending on some other parameters, we were not yet able to identify precisely.

Even then, perhaps this is enough, to give Prog some hints.
Else he may ask you for more details in any case
