I bought a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-4000-HD card which is DVB-T/DVB-S/DVB-S2 & Analogue tv. After many problems I managed to get WinTV 7 which is shipped with the card to work, both DVB-T & DVB-S. Not DVB-S2 yet though. Prog DVB Pro 6.06.02 does not seem to work at all with the card.
When I click "Device List" I see {BDA} Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-S/S2 Tuner/Demod and Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-T Tuner/Demod. When I want to scan a satellite or just a frequency I get nothing. When I restart Prog DVB Pro I am brought to DiSEq Settings. I have a motorised dish so I don't want any diseq and not positioner so I click "none" button but when I try to leave the box by clicking OK nothing happens - I have to press Cancel to get out.
Does anyone have any clue how to get Prog DVB Pro to work correct? Is it a known problem with the Hauppauge card? As I understand it is not brand new product, it has been around a while. I might add other third party softwares have problems dealing with the Hauppauge aswell. Which leads me to think it has something to do with the BDA driver.
My setup:
Windows XP Professional Swedish (32 bit)
Service pack 3
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-4000-HD
A second question: Assume I get card and Prog DVB Pro to work correct and I become registered user by purchasing a license. If I in future want to change computer / change motherboard, do I need to purchase new license then? Hardware ID should change if I change hardware.
#2
How would you want to control the positioner without DiSEqC???
BTW, after a hardware change you can re-register your licensed version with the new HW ID.

But I don't want to control the positioner. If I want to move the dish I do it with standalone satellite receiver. All I want to use Prog DVB Pro is scan single transponder, not whole satellite.
When I start Prog DVB Pro the Diseq settings box opens. Nothing happens when I click ok. I remove Astra then it says empty. I then click Add LNB and choose Astra. Then try OK - nothing happens.
I upload a picture so you guys know what I am talking about.

Re: .
#6Hm.. I am not sure what IPTV is. I thought it was TV through internet which I did not want. Anyway I tried choose Prog Media Client in the IPTV menu and clicked OK and the dialogue box closed. When I tried to scan a transponder and choosed Astra it still did not work. When I look in Device List of Prog DVB Pro I see lot of red crosses.. (see picture) does that have something to do with this? Green PCI card at TS Reader, Prog Media Client and {BDA} Hauppauge WinTV 88x DVB-S/S2 Tuner Demod. BDA Device version 1.61 it says and API version 1.33.Prog wrote:Do you select list for IPTV?

Exactly, don't let receiver and hauppauge interfere with each other.
BTW, don't care for the red marked devices, as (most of) those entries are just modules for tuners you don't have. ProgDVB comes with quite a number of those.
In your cased, just the DVB-S BDA device for your tuner matters (for now).

Re: .
#9Sorry but that is not an option. My Technomate receiver has loopthrough but Hauppauge not. Of course the Technomate is turned off when I try use Hauppauge. The driver I have use is from latest file (I believe), called 88x_2_123_27056_WHQL.zip which I upload, maybe you can find something useful in it. I also found a program which pulls out product information from the card, see the picture.Prog wrote:Try connect dierect without receiver.

At least temporarily, for testing purposes only.
As people can't look over your shoulder nor place a meter directly to your hardware, there are some basic requirements for remote diagnosis, to try to get closer to the source of your problem, or at least exclude some others.
A loop through may in any case have some effect on a system, even if handled exactly as specified in the manual. Like, switching Voltages and control signals are always effected a bit. And this may - but not must - be one important piece in the puzzle.

Re: .
#11Ok now I did as you guys suggested - connect the Hauppauge directily to the dish without going through standalone receiver's loop. Status quo, no change. When I try to scan anything I see "Level" = 100%, regardless of wether the Hauppauge is connected to a dish or not. Quality is of course zero. I have problems with every third part softwares I have tried so I am leaning on the Hauppauge might actually be faulty. Hauppauge's own software works sometimes and not very satisfying as I am unable to watch DVB-S2 channels with it. I have only one option left now before I return the card and that is to swap PCI slot with a soundcard and see if any difference occurs.Juergen wrote:

Ohwell, I guess I am soon in for a third trial period of Prog DVB Pro as I have not yet been able to verify DVB-S2 HD/SD which is what I want it for. Suggestions of which board I should by is appreciated. Must support DVB-S/S2/HD & DVB-T. Preferably PCI-card and not USB connected stick.
