i have a "new" Kworld DVBS 100 pci card and with ProgDVB i can ONLY see "horizontal" stations, vertical stay black.

The strange thing is, if i delete the value in the LNB switch field (11700Mhz), i can watch (ONLY!) the vertical stations. If i write the value back - vert. stations are black and horiz. ok again.

A tv with a digital receiver box on the same cable works great and shows all stations.

I've read much about 14V/18V switching, high an low band - but didn't really understand the whole thing.

So my questions are:

1. What does this "switch field" do, and why can i see the vertical sations if it's empty (and only them)?
2. Is it - even i can see both sations, hor. and ver (under the described circumstances) - possible the card is broken and can't switch from hor. to vert. anymore?

LNB Voltage switching between 14 and 18 Volts is used, to select between vertical and horizontal polarisation. There is no option to adjust this, as it's a basic function.

Frequency band selection is done by sending out a continuous 22kHz carrier, to switch to High Band, or no carrier, for Low Band.
As the bands are overlapping a bit, it's possible, to shift the switchover limit between 11550 and 11900 MHz, without losing anything. Shifting may be necessary, if the LNB or cables were a bit weak on upper Low Band or lower High Band transponders.

Of course, we are talking Ku band receiving here, with linear polarisation, as used by Europe market typical equipment for Europe typical birds...
That's why default values should work fine.

But if you had a unicable solution, or are connected to some other kind of community dish, or whatever else non-standard, you should let us know in full detail...

I've tested another DVB card today (technisat) and this one worked without problems (at standard settings), so it seems something is wrong with the KWorld card.
