Theoretically, that USB IR receiver would have to be handled either as HumanInterfaceDevice, then producing (emulated) keyboard controls, or linked to some kind of a virtual COM port, to work with LIRC.
No idea, if or how this can be done in your case, sorry.

Hello,

can anyone tell me, how to use an USB IRDA with ProgDVB? I read that it will not work, but I can´t belive this furtunally. At the moment I just get USB Irda´s on E-Bay and my PC doesn´t have any COM-Port, so it must be an USB IRDA plugin for ProgDVB.

I will be very amused about a solution. At the moment I use Grider, but her I can only make an up and down option, no volume and no direkt programm choice.

Please help me. My IRDA device is known as HID device in Windows XP with SP2.

With best regards,

Alex :x
