Re: restarting after crash repeatedly on startup

I am also getting this very same problem with all versions of ProgDVB and ProgTV.

I have tried un-installing and re-installing but this did not work.

I have just had some windows 10 updates I suspect it has something to do with that.

I cannot be sure though the same programs are running ok on a laptop that I have but no longer work on my desktop.

Any ideas anyone.

Seems that Microsoft smashed some codec :
"After investigating, this is the filter responsible:
Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msmpeg2vdec.dll
{212690FB-83E5-4526-8FD7-74478B7939CD}"

People have problems with .ts files and some with mp4 files.

For Win10 deinstalling the latest update KB 4013429 helps.
I use shutup10 for blocking the update to reinstall.

This did resolve the problem I have just tried it and my registered ProgDVB started up without any problem. I will most likely get a re-install of KB 4013429

Oh dear Windows has just re-installed KB 4013429 again and the same problem has re-appeared restart and crash restart and crash over and over again hope the maker of the program of ProgDVB and ProgTV can fix this as its a windows update problem and not an error in the program. A lot of people that have ProgDVB aren't going to be able to keep uninstalling KB 4013429 as that update coverers so many issues.

As i wrote above, i use "shutup10" ( https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 ).
A little freeware tool, you dont have to install it , just open it and choose the things you want that win10 dont do again, close and restart, finished. So you can disable also the update function, i reable it for a few hour every "Microsoft Patchday" for staying updated.

Available in English, German, French, Italian and Russian :P

I'm having the same crash problems sinds 16-03, as voiced here.

Changed to different versions of ProgDVB, changed the codecs to LAVFilters-0.69.1 and disabled “use Microsoft WMV9 DMO Decoder."
Ended up with ProgDVB 7.17.9b wich runs OK now apart from crash problems on 5 channels. Still crashes on Dutch Public TV (HD, 3 channels) and German ARD and ZDF. All other channels working fine.

I use Windows 10 pro 64 and a Hauppauge WinTV-1975 PVR Model 16000 Hybrid DVB-C.

Any ideas solving this problem?

Thank You
