I have done this experiment Win7x32 + SS1 a year ago and from what I remember it has worked using the driver without the network adapter that is on TT site.

I have not kept this system more than a few hours... Win7x32 makes no sense. The real problem is where Juergen says x64. There won't be x64 drivers for SS1.

@Jurgen: believe me I have said the same that the hardware output from SS1 cannot be matched but my new system proved this wrong. Connecting the PC directly to the LCD TV will provide a far better picture quality (provided that you use codecs that support DXVA). Please experiment this on your new system.

I do know about the benefits of feeding a nice LCD screen digitally with it's native resolution, upscaled properly if required.
That's what I'm doing 99% of the time over here, for more than two years now. Both, the computer screen and the TV, are FullHD now, fed by HDMI.
Believe me, I've had an early TFT monitor many years ago, and I gave it away soon and returned to Trinitron CRT, for quite some time.
But times are changing.

Anyway, sometimes I still need to have perfect CVBS here, for several reasons, as mentioned before.
Like camcorder video digitizing and editing for family and friends.
Proper interlace handling is a must there on, and the only reliable way to test is on a conventional CRT video screen, 50i for PAL, direct scanning.
Wrong interlace or even cross changed frames can quite often be seen even on the news of big stations, like if quick and dirty converting Quicktime or similar.
But I won't want to do that to my relatives.
So obviously I am not the most common user...

For similar reasons, I am (beneath others) still using ProgDVB 4.75 here, last one with full hardware play out capabilities.

Hello Prog,

Ok, Windows Seven x32 SP1 works without problems.

I have tested it in a test-installation with Windows Seven Enterprise x32 SP1.

download

http://www.tt-downloads.de/Update/treib ... .7.0.6.zip

unzip the three files in a folder:

saa7146n.cat (30 30.04.2010)
Saa7146n.inf (30.04.2010)
Saa7146n.sys (06.09.2004)

Go to device manager? (in German Geräte-Manager)
other devices? in my German Windows 7 "andere Geräte"
multimedia controller? ("Multimediaconroller" in German)
right click
driver (in German "Treiber")
driver actualization? (in German "Treiber aktualisieren")

show windows seven the unzipped driver folder
say win 7 yes, this is really a very nice driver
thats all

Use ProgDVB 6.61.0.3. for hardware-mode (in the moment??)

Regard Carlos

PS:
I have make screen-shots if you want to see it.

PPS:

x64 will be the future, there is no doubt. But I think it is necessary to use x32 for some years to be compatible with so many devices and programs!

32 bit applications on 64 bit systems normally are not the problem, most are working fine.
But for sure drivers are.

We have seen similar issues before several times, and it feels like the industry wants to force us, to buy new hardware over and over again, often for the same old purpose.
64 bit OS is not really a new aspect, as, for example, XP Pro 64bit is from 2005, and an Itanium only version was introduced along with 32bit XP in 2001.
Of course, they have also been announced long before.
So the manufacturers must have known about 64 bit coming up from around 1999, latest.
And most of those never ever warned their customers, about not being willing to create 64 bit drivers, at all.
Microsoft are innocent in this case, more or less, as it's far easier for manufacturers, to create a driver for a new platform, than for OS makers, to implement some cross platform driver compatibility. For example, we can be happy, (many) WDM drivers can still be used on 7, but there's no way, to make old 16 bit VxD run on an NT based system, neither a 64 bit nor a 32 bit one.
Feels like sell and forget

@coelhomd

Thanks for your information, good to know.
Interessting DVB-Card, but very unfortunate that ProgDVB does't work with it.
