DirectX wallpaper mode, allowing you to watch TV (full screen) while still working on your PC.

What is "DirectX wallpaper mode" ? I think that is very depended from video renderer

Its a little hard to explain but basically your desktop wallpaper becomes your TV screen so you can still have applications open on top of it. A good example is the VLC media player it has a DirectX wallpaper mode. I just thought it would be neat if it could be done and maybe a first for satellite software.

Hi,
A feature I would find useful to be added is a way to easily schedule a duration for instant record.

Because today I had that problem the second time... (not today the second time but in general)

I recorded a movie on channel A and after that I wanted to record a movie from channel B. As I had let it record in the background, I didn't noticed that ProgDVB couldn't change the channel. Only in the Event Viewer of Windows I found the message from ProgDVB. Now the strange thing: even so it couldn't change the channel, it still recorded whatever was on the previous channel.

Means: when channel A is set and I want to record something from channel B, but ProgDVB is unable to switch the channel, then it just records channel A which is kinda useless.

Lost a movie 'cause of this. Dunno if its possible to let the ProgDBV-Scheduler make a popup or something when such an error occurs (or just let progDVB try it again to switch the channel)

Edit: I use a DVB-T-Device

Current version of scheduler not best for multi channel recording :( I plan improve that in future.

Just my two cents of wisdom...

When using the scheduler for unattended recording (which is the main reason for having a scheduler function), an error message popup won't be really helpful, as nobody would be around, to notice it and interfere.
Means, no reaction, no recording done...

So, there would be just one theoretical chance, to avoid such trouble, channel switching a minute before record start time, allowing like two or three attempts of auto retune if lost signal.

Yes I totally agree with that... and the sooner it gets done the better. I would like scheduler that actually works properly please. I have already lost recordings of footage that will not be seen on tv for a long time and is unavailable on DVD. So please get onto this, I would buy your pro version if the standard worked how I want. The retry of failed channels is an awesome suggestion, we don't want to lose recordings, EVER.

Still losing important recordings. Decode noisy frames please without losing signal and not coming back. Refresh channel on lost signal does not work, it does nothing. I've lost a signal, the channel stayed black, but if i then quickly change to another channel and then back again there it is. That therefore suggests there was a signal, your program is just to lame to pick it back up at this point. So my suggestion is, make it record EVERYTHING, glitches, lost signal, whatever, just continue to record and bring the channel back asap. whats so difficult about that, too hard for you to implement? Put a new routine in your program that does this on lost signals, signal lost, retry channel, continue recording noisy frames etc... Just dont stop recording unless I tell it to, whats with it deciding to stop recording at random times like it does? thats crap...

1. Lost signal is problem if tuner. If signal lost while recording then software not can do anything. "Refresh" not working also because in record state.
2. And yes, I need spend more time for scheduler of ProgDVB.

Losing the streams of a station would normally have one out of exactly two possible reasons:

-1) Signal loss ~ level issues of any kind
dish size and adjustment, radio interference, cabling, connectors, switches, LNB, ...

-2) Lock loss due to AFT failure ~ tuner control or LOF issue
driver (used), thermal issues on LNB or tuner, lock procedure timings, ...

Regarding the first issue, a programmer could not do anything at all.

The second issue also depends on the BDA driver model and handling, and if sufficient knowledge was available, perhaps...
And there's one thing the customer could also take care for, finding out on the true LOF(s) of the existing LNB(s).
This can be done by testing the precise centre point of the lock hold range, and if not being exactly symmetrical, retuning the LOF used to the opposite direction.
So a whole band (or single band LNB) can easily get optimized.
Keep in mind, big LNB temperature changes can detune it's LOF for two or three MHz. So test at noon and retest at night.
