Schedule a recording - Don’t want to waste data allocation

When I schedule a recording that begins in the middle of the night I wind up wasting some of my monthly data allocation because ProgTV has to be running before my recording starts, and it continues to run after the recording ends. I have configured ProgTV to exit after the recording is finished, but it waits for me to click on OK before it will do anything. If there were a way to tell ProgTV to remain inactive before and after recordings, that would be great.
