Bugs - Test Version 5.06

This is looking a lot better than the previous versions, the OSD is now working just how I'd expect, just thought I'd write down a few points that I was thinking about when I use the software.

1) The TV window doesnt centre vertically so theres an area of picture missing at the bottom or a black band at the top.

2) The about links dont work (causes errors)

3) The remote setup doesnt work when learn is pressed it does nothing neither will it erase something already set

4) A useful 'tool' would be to remove black bands completly from the picture and recentre and expand to fill the whole screen, sometimes you get films with black bands broadcast in 4:3 mode then displayed on a 16:9 you end up with a pciture frame effect (not sure if thats how the 16:9 & 16:10 mode things are supposed to be but they dont seems to work for this)

5) Centre the main menu OSD in the middle of the picture. This works very well in the main though and is a great feature.

Keep up the good work =)

*edit*

6) The Normal/TV/fullscreen doesnt appear to work properly it just switches between Normal/TV

*more edit*

7) Make the OSD work for Radio stations and 'blank' stations you end up with a blank screen which you cant tell has changed or not when viewing several radio stations or maybe a channel that isnt broadcasting at that time.

8) Also with the OSD it probably more helpful to see the program description rather than see whats coming next (maybe a switch to have it either way)

Hardware or software mode?
Keep in mind, the TT 2.19c PCI-e (KS) driver causes codec use even if device set to HW mode.

In SW mode, availability of OSD depends on codec and renderer.

is in hardware mode

but drivers are not PCIe but normal 2.19 TT drivers

maybe its codec use - so which codec works with osd?

Check the hardware TV out.
That's what the device settings are for mainly, including enabling OSD.
If you have OSD there, but not on PC screen, it's obvious, your PC screen picture is from a codec, not the Nexus hardware.

Regarding codecs, I can't help a lot, as I'm using plain HW mode on my vintage computer...
But old elecard (which came as a demo with older ProgDVB versions) in fact does OSD here, using ProgDVB renderer.

Check the VMR9 renderer is on it sometimes sets it back to the 'standard video renderer which doesnt do the OSD (at least on mine)

I use the old 909 model of haupages card

Video: InterVideo Decoder for TechnoTrend
Video H.264: Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder
Audio: Elecard Layer II AUdio Decoder
AC3 Audio: Elecard Layer II AUdio Decoder

Also with the timeshift 'disabled' (reason being it desynced periodically)

The InterVideo codec seems a lot better on my lcd monitor as the Elcard one has lines when movements are quick (not sure why)

not sure what that letterbox is supposed to do so I have that set to none =)

Hope this helps anyway, the new version is a *lot* better more stable and most of my previous gripes have been solved but I'll save that for my next post =)

I found an other bug about the recording options.

You can change them, but the only record you can have is audio and video in mpg2.
The option mpa is no more avalable.

but, good job !

I still can't see any OSD in 5.09.1 :?
I have tried many codecs and a lot of settings in device options.

Does OSD work with hauppauge nexus?

In software mode OSD depends on codec and renderer.
Try another renderer first.

Should work 100% in HW mode.

Did not test latest 5.0x recently, as no w9x update available and my w2k installation not ready yet, no time...
