Just wondering if ProgDVB works for HDTV cards too or is it only for satellite?

What device are you talking about, exactly?
Please place a link to the relevant manufacturer place, and let us know the precise model name.
ProgDVB is working on sattelite, cable and terrestrical, as long as it's DVB.

Like I said, WinTV-D. That's from Hauppauge in New York.
American HDTV is ATSC Digital TV, not DVB so I'm guessing it won't work.

No guarantee given in any way, but I have just noticed, latest versions of ProgDVB at least show indices resp. preparations for ATSC
Anyway, we can't test on ATSC over here in Europe.
No wonder we don't know that device.
Perhaps you would want to register and read at dvbn.happysat.org
They have a huge NA related section.

The channels are without names now because the crappy Hauppauge player called WinTV2000 only gives them a number.

Do you test ProgDVB with ATSC?

I just tried it but nothing happened, it says there is no device. It doesn't seem to have any support for ATSC cards.

Do you test last version? Is it BDA driver?

>Do you test last version?
Yes, 5.12.
>Is it BDA driver?
Haven't got a clue.

Latest version is 5.12.2
Check system control, hardware manager.
If BDA, this is indicated by the device name in most cases.
Else look into driver details there.

I don't have any idea what you mean by that. Could you
please clarify?

Version is 5.12.2 has a bug that keeps causing a System Out of Memory Exception Error and crashes about every hour!

I don't have an English windows version.
So I don't know the precise names there.
But system control should exist.
And you surely have a hardware / device manager (not assistent) in there, that lists up all the hardware components.
And they are having names and properties.
Including driver details.
And you should find your DVB device there.

Windows says the driver for the WinTV-D card is hcw848nt.sys.
