Hi,

I have a strange problem with my prog dvb application. I use the latest version of 5.15.9 with the nvidia pure video decoder and the programm crashes about every 30 minutes. Before prog dvb crashes the sound fall out, about 2 secondes later the screen stucks and then prog dvb crashes. After this I can only make a restart of my computer with the hardware reset button.
I have a Athlon XP 2400+ with 1GB RAM (WinXP SP2 in use), a Ge-Force 7600 and a hauppauge DVB-S card which will be recognize in prog dvb without any problem.
Before this problem appears prog dvb works without any problems but after approx. 30 minutes this problem comes again and again....
I have tried to update nvidia, hauppauge drivers, use older versions of prog dvb .... nothing seems to help.
In other applications my computer working without any problems.
Has anyone hints for me how to fix this problem ? I would be very happy :D .....

Regards

Chris

Very similar problem for me also with Compro Videomate S300, and I tried on 2 pc´s (Celeron 3.2, 1GB, ATI X1650 and AMD Athlon64 3000+, 1GB, 7600 GT). With 5.15.x versions there is need to restart pc, with 4.56.2 there is only crash report, no need for restart.

Hi, thanks for reply.

maybe we find out what is the problem in the 5.15.xx versions.
What kind of audio decoder you use ? I set up elecard audio decoder for audio, ac3 and aac audio. I also tried different settings in prog dvb but nothing did help.

thanks

Both of you may want to look after memory usage issues.

Do you have timeshift in file or RAM? What max. size?

Well, I solved my problem with dvbviewer (but it is not free application), so I think it is something wrong with our configs or in the way ProgDVB comunicate with device driver.

Here is what is adviced to me from Prog:

I used to have a similar problem but I have solve it. Disable the screeh saver and set Turn off the monitor/Turn off HDD to Never. But before check if these are set to 30 minutes. ;)

I hope that works for you too. :)
