Hi,

I'm using ProgDVB 6.21.01 Pro Trial and a Skystar HD2 for recieving TV.
The normal channels without HD are running.
If I try to watch a HDTV channel (free or paytv) the screen stays black.
The signal and the quality ist nice but no picture.

Check h264/AAC/AC3 codecs in ProgDVB Settings.

And which settings do you suggest?

My options:

h264: ffdshow, moonlight h.264 decoder, main concept AVC, microsoft DTV-DVD decoder

AC3: elecard, ffdshow, main concecpt layer II, main concept dolby digital, microsoft DTV-DVD decoder, WMAudio decoder, WMSpeech decoder, mp3 decoder

AAC: elecard, ffdshow, main concecpt AAC, microsoft DTV-DVD decoder, WMAudio decoder, WMSpeech decoder, mp3 decoder

I'm using a Dolby Digital 5.1 Reciever with an optical cable.

Mhh....there's still the same problem.
I took two pictures:

Images too small. Do you have level and quality?

Channels without HD have got level and quality.

But channels with HD don't.

There are two pictures included.

Now/Next data for ZDF HD may have come from a former visit to the normal ZDF transponder.
Perhaps ProgDVB does not switch your tuner to DVB-S2 (properly), this for no L & Q there.
Check device options.

Also try if you can get Einsfestival HD (trailer loop only) on 12421 H 27500, or at least good L & Q there.
This is a standard DVB-S transponder, Einsfestival HD is the only HD signal there, beneath several SD (a bundle of WDR locals plus Radio Bremen TV).
Let us know, if L&Q indications are identical for Einsfestival HD and Radio Bremen TV or not.
If good, but still no HD picture, you may be missing a HD suitable codec.

This is all from me here, as neither I had any computer based HD tuner, nor this for any good reason to go for Pro versions of ProgDVB.
Can only compare HD issues with my cheap XORO HRS 8500 STB...

I have absolut the same problem. I'm using the Skystar HD2 card as well with WinXP and progdvb professionell 32.

All dvb-s channel are fine. 1Festival hd is as well fine.

If I do a channel scan than no dvb-s2 channel like ARD-HD od ZDF-HD channel is been found by progdvb.

With DVBviewer all channel DVB-S and DVB-S2 channels are fine.

Has anybody an idea what the problem with progdvb is ?

Pay channels? Do you have error with message if start ProgDVB with /Debug key?

He mentioned German HD stations, that are true FTA.

Station names in fact are "Das Erste HD" and "ZDF HD", both on 19.2°E 11361 H 22000, DVB-S2, h.264 720p.

"Einsfestival HD", still just a trailer channel, instead is transmitted on 19.2°E 12421 H 27500, a standard DVB-S transponder. It's coded in h.264 and using 720p as well.

If I start with the debug switch and I do a channel scan on

19.2°E 11361 H 22000 nothing appears and no error messages in the logfile.

As Jürgen said the channels are FTA and DVB-S2, h.264 720p ("Das Erste HD" and "ZDF HD")

Seems, your tuner is not switching to DVB-S2 (properly).
To enable this switch (Pro only), you have to select proper device settings for your hardware.
