Hi All, does anyone uses ProgDVB with Medion cards? I have ctx953 (DVB-T), it can find channels but no picture or sound...

Check channel properties of a few channels, if they contain audio and video IDs, that are NOT zero (= none).
If valid IDs found, and at least some valid Now / Next data being shown, maybe you don't have any useful codecs available.
Or perhaps the transmissions are encrypted...

You should try to give people more details, like what DVB-T services are available on your location...

here is the channel list info. There are _FTA_ and encryped channels...
I used the _pro_ trial version 6446. Codecs are _present_, since the card works (the digital part) with other sw (dvbdream, dvbviewer).
(I also uploaded the channel info. By the way, it is for the Szentes and Szeged region (8MHz, 8000 sr).
Would i get signal strenght with wrong pids???

no picture? -->change to:
VMR-9 renderless (after apply, progdvb crashes)
error message after starting progdvb
[{dbs} 713x bda dvbt tuner] run dba graph error!

After these, the medion card cannot be enabled, the same error message is given (without crash, with any of the video renderer options).

Before reboot, I changed the video renderer option to "video renderer (osd not supported)". This usually helps. The card could be enabled but no picture (on any _FTA_ dvb-t channels).
I changed the "h.264/avc" option to "divx h.264 decoder". Progdvb crashed.

After the crash and reboot...
Progdvb worked, picture and sound are present. The HD channels are not in the right 4:3 format (or aspect ratio), but there is a moving picture. (1440x1088)

But...
When I get into options, and click to audio\codecs, the sw crashes again. After a reboot, the card can be used again.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I hope, I am not the only one with this card. Thanks, Aron

P.S.:
With dvbviewer (v421): the mainconcept codecs work, the HD channels are in the right aspect ratio. BUT... The picture falls apart after changing from sd to hd, only a prg restart helps...

As this all bases on a Pro version, I can't really help any further.

However, a few things are looking really strange from my point of view, limited to the German situation of DVB-T:

- we don't have HD on DVB-T here, it may come with DVB-T2 one day.
So many TV stations on each of just two transponders, this would normally require DVB-T2, to allow a suitable symbol rate, for each and in total.
Or are some not working 24/7, time sharing the resources instead?

- all stations are coded in h.264, so this is the only video codec used.
I am not sure, if your CPU is really strong enough to do this properly.
Perhaps it may be important, to get at least some hardware acceleration by your GPU, in case to be activated fro the codec's properties.

- I have never heard of a regular service, transmitting HD content in 4:3 aspect ratio. But as your screen (resolution) is (almost) 4:3, you would need to have set 4:3 letterbox for 16:9 transmissions, to avoid getting egg heads...

That's all from me here in this thread now, as told before.
But perhaps also tell people, what kind of drivers you have for the tuner, what GPU and driver, what OS and service pack exactly and DirectX version and alike.

Hello, all channels are in 24/7. (Except PrivateSpice...)
The Hungarian state channels broadcast their HD in both 4:3 and 16:9. (The SD is upscaled.) The two commercial channels are in SD. The dvb-t quality is ways better than from satellite, like the encrypted Digitv (on 1W, I think.)

My PC isn't the strongest one, but it can cope with the HD stream with dvbviewer and dvbdream. Progdvb cannot. I think, the main cause is the codec difference: Progdvb won't work with the Mainconcept codec only with divx, the other two can use Mainconcept h.264 without dropped frames.
My graphics card is older than the PC...
Maybe my harsware can be seen on exhibitions in museums in West Europe.

ATI Radeon 7000, 32MB RAM
Opsystem is winxp pro en sp3 with 1,5GB RAM
Directx is 90c

The Medion driver is the latest from the Creatix site (http://www.creatix.com/support/typ.php?tid=115&gid=14).
