I'm using progdvb since Version4 in free-version. I had never any problems. Now I switched to the Prof-Version (6.73) and I've got a large problem. I'm using the same settings (Codecs, rendering engine ...) for recording in the prof-version like in free-version (only win7 codecs). When I wonna watch my recorded files the first 10 seconds are O.K., then the stream jumps to a position 10 til 30 minuts later, plays for round about 10 seconds and so on. I've testes several codecs and other settings, but the result is ever the same.
I hat jumped back to the free-version and everything works fine. Are there so much differences between both versions? Do you have a solution for my problem?

Is it both version is x32?

in both versions. Both versions are testet on the same PC -> equal Hardware.

Has noboby the same problem or an idea so solve it?
Then I have to use the mediacenter for recording and try to sell the prof-version

do you record as .mpg or .ts file?

I'm recording in ts-format and the problems are ever the same, in each player I use (prog , videolan, mediaplayer ...)

TS format not depended from ProgDVB. ProgDVB record stream "is as" from channel.

But the recorded files have the extension ts. In recording option is only a second setting and thats the wma-Format. I'm using the standard settings. The result: see above.

I have had same problem. Version 6.61.1 x64 Pro records ok but all versions since update of engine have record problems. Pixelating every 10 seconds or so and jumping forward erratically or freezing. Recording is corrupted. .TS format.
I keep trying new versions hoping it is fixed but always have to go back to 6.61.1
TV card is TBS6922 DVB S/S2 on Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Edit: Also ProgDVB will not play back it's own recorded files. Same problems as above.
Edit: Also tried x86 version, still the same. I like features of setting up of new versions but need to go back to old recording engine.

I am recommend use TS format and try change option "all stream" in record settings.

A last posting of mine: It works now. I had uninstalled the version 6.8.1 and reinstalled it. the recorded files had the same mistake like those of chrisupyonder (pixeled sometimes). In the settings - recording menue was no chance to change the filetype of recorded files. This window was unvisible.
Now I updated to 6.8.3, changed the Video renderer to EVR Custom Presenter - recorded files to *.ts (the frame now is visible) and it works fine. Where was my or programs mistake - I dont know.

After many hours of experimenting with the latest version of the Pro x64 version I now am getting reliable recordings in both HD and normal res. The answer was to use the timeshift buffer which I never used.
It is set to "only current channel in buffer".
Buffer in memory set to 1000 MByte. (I have 4 GByte of ram so 2.5Gb free with prog running)
Max record speed 15000 KByte/s
Using time shift during record async mode - ticked
Split file size 2048Mb (required so I can edit with Nero Video)

Demultiplexor: Microsoft

Video Renderer: Enhanced Video Renderer (Microsoft)
Mpeg-2: Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder
H.264/AVC: CoreAVC Video Decoder (paid for version $12.95)

System default direct sound device
Mpeg: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder
AC3: AC3Filter version 1.63b free (ac3filter.net)
AAC: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder

The rest are default.

I also install the Haali Media Splitter (http://haali.su/mkv/)
This is not used by Prog but allows playback of MKV files in Windows Media Player x64 version.
After hours messing about with codec packs (Shark, K-Lite etc which screw up windows)
The only codecs required to play any audio/video files are...

AC3Filter
Haali Media Splitter
Xiph.org for playing .flac files
