I'm looking at purchasing a licence but before I do I'd just like to know if there are any restrictions? Namely I was looking at Jrivers media centre software and noticed this in their terms.

Q: I tried to restore several times, and the last time it failed.
A: You have ten free restores per year. After that, you need to purchase another Registration Code.

I format my machine a lot so don't want to be stuck with an app that I only used a few times.

Also, what is the policy of upgrades? If you come out with a version 7, will this be a free or paid for upgrade?
