ProgDVBEngine Question

I have been having a sound problems setting up ProgDVB 4.82 (standard edition) to BBC HDTV. Using just the Main Concept in default graphs the picture is fine but the sound is like Mickey Mouse!

I did try lots of things including new graphs but could not get solve the sound problem. Then I tried the Elcard edition of progdvb and the sound is fine. I did get a 'pin connect error', but I just changed TV/AC3: to a blank and now that is fixed also.

My question is, I can leave all the graphs and settings exactly the same in the ProgDVB folder and just copy the ProgDVBEngine.dll from Elcard edition (Installed in a different folder) and the sound problem is gone. If I copy the standard ProgDVBEngine.dll back into the ProgDVB folder, the sound problem is back.

Why is that? Is there a problem with the standard edition ProgDVBEngine?

In fact I don't know. No HDTV suitable HW here at all.

However, perhaps you should try the standard version with the w9x update on it, in just another folder.
But you have to use all files, at least exe, engine and epg, as those belong together, all differently compiled for W9x and not compatible with any other edition.
Should also work under NT based Win, at least that's OK on my W2k SP4 tests over here.

Wonder if that version also shows the same symptoms (perhaps just on your system?)...

This for, if anyone else can tell more on this issue, please feel free to interfere.

I use winXP so don't know about w9x update. But I'll keep trying with the standard version.

Thanks anyway.

Try out, then you will know...

Look at Prog's download page.
The w9x update comes as a ZIP file, containing all files, that would have to be exchanged at the same time.

Make a backup copy of your ProgDVB folder structure before making experiments, then you can easily go back at any time.

How did you manage to make the MainConcept codec working with ProgDVB ?
Can you post your filter graph please ?

I experienced this as well on channels with AC3 5.1 sound. I fixed it by choosing Main Concept + AC3Filter graph.

If you search on Google you'll find AC3Filter is a free download.
