The diseqc messages issue is by far the more important in this subject.
But I see there are three more problems in this tab.
If you want, I can expose then to fix soon, or wait to this part fix. You command...

Please try repeat this problem on scanner and set channel functions. May be bug on dialog level may be on module/driver.

Again, (five times or more repeated before in this topic, cant you read? :evil: :shock: ):

DISEQC MESSAGES WRONG ONLY IN DISEQC 1.2 POSITIONER TAB

Maybe the word tab is wrong here, its Diseqc 1.2 Positioner window, form, box, frame, etc...

I had no time to test the 6.86.3b pre-release, but now I tested the version 6.86.4.
I would like to thank Prog for fixing the old diseqc 1.2 bugs, so now everybody can use a positioner and a switch in the same instalation. Progdvb will work good in channel changing, scanning and motor adjusts (this took some years to go, but is done) :) :) :)

Still there are some things to perfect the diseqc 1.2. I see one bug to fix and two other issues to complete the Diseqc 1.2 Positioner tab.

1- The buttom "Positions" must be removed from that tab. For two reasons: first, because it is really useless; second, it is bugged.
In a simple configuration, with only one positioner, the buttom works well. It shows the choosen numbered satellites, and permit edit the satellites numbers.
But in a complex configuration, positioners togeter with switchs, it will not show correct satellite positions, and editing satellite numbers there will destroy the diseqc tree we configured in the "Setting > TV Sources" . The example I gave some messages above shows clearly the problem.

So, the "Positions" buttom must be removed, and the only good place to edit satellite numbers should be the "Setting > TV Sources" in the toolbar.

2 - the next issue is with the drop-down satellite list of the Diseqc 1.2 Positioner tab. It shows a list of all the satellites present in the "all.list" transponder file.
But if I have only a few choosen satellites in my diseqc tree, as set in the "Setting > TV Sources", it is logical to show only this ones in the Diseqc 1.2 Positioner tab.
For example, say I use only four satellites; why show more than 200 ones in that list?
Do the same way it is in the Manual Scanner tab, which shows only the able satellites.

3 - finally, the satellite number that appears next to the "Goto" buttom should be the number set to the satellite I choose in the drop-down list. Now it is always "0".
But most of the times, we want to find a new satellite or do a antenna fine tuning to a weak satellite; so we have to type the right satellite number before storing a position. With dozens of satellites, remenbering them becomes a problem, cant you see?

Thats all we wish Prog considerate, and soon implement in Progdvb.

All ProgDVb 4.x/5.x/6.x good for switch + positioner. One small bug in one addition dialog not reason.

2.
why show more than 200 ones in that list?
Some users use this dialog for setup positioner.

3. "number" not depended from satellite in this logic. You select satellite ONLY for select transponder list.

If a bug prevents rigth using a soft, it should be immediatelly fixed, no?

I insist asking you to make update the satellite number used by the goto and store buttons, to the one as set in the diseqc tree configurations.
If a satellite is not yet set in the diseqc tree, default its number (or position) to "0", other way update it to the number (position) already set.
It is a sin to be remembering the numbers of dozen satellites i have already configured, if the program can easily do that for us :wink:
To setup a extra satellite, off the diseqc tree, then just type down the number (position) you wish :!:

NOoooooooO! (No, no. No, no, no. No... "Two Unlimited" :) )
1. Prior to the obtaining of the program you are given a trial version for solutions.
2. Call at least one a serious program, where it is so. Fix every week, who can boast of?
3. Mr. Prog is a person, not a corporation.

Do you understand all of this?

Do you have screen of good positioner dialog? I plan remake this dialog in future and collect information and good ideas.

@ V.Zhukoff,

I love Progdvb, its my favourite dvb player. As a user if we eventually find bugs or bad solutions, we ask and hope for solution, in this forum.
I guess that many people can learn things from the discussions we take here. I´m trying to focuse on a kind of bug, to not mix things.
Its obvious that Mr. Prog has the power to weigth, to fix something or reject the requisitions we do, and when he wants to do.

@Prog,
About changes in the Diseqc 1.2 positioner, now that all the basic problems are solved, only secondary issues remain, why change it?
For me, keep it the way it is.

Another problem with Diseqc?
I have a 2-port switch, followed on 1 port by a 4-port switch (total 5 LNB's).
Both switches are Diseqc 2.0.
When I configure in the dialog TV-sources only one (1) switch and connect 4 of the LNB's to it, then depending on the input side of the 2-pos switch I get:
pos 1 -> LNB 1 + 3 on the 4-pos switch,
pos 2 -> LNB 2 + 4 on the 4-pos switch.
According to the logic (?) I should get:
pos 1 -> LNB 1 on the 4-pos switch,
pos 2 -> LNB 2 on the 4-pos switch.
Anybody a suggestion?

If you phisically dont need the 2 port switch, why use it in the diseqc tree or in the instalation? Dont understand that.
Anyway, later I will test the configuration tree as you say, and check the diseqc messages sent, ok?

@ henkie888,
Using version 6.86.4, I tested the tree config you suggest, and didnt find any problem with the diseqc 1.0 messages sent from Progdvb. I cant real test a tone switch as I dont have one.

Observe what follows to avoid problems in diseqc instalations:

1- 22KHz switchs are not diseqc compatible, they should not be used togeter with diseqc switchs any level;

2- tone switchs are diseqc compatible, can be used togeter with diseqc 1.x or 2.x, but see:

3 - Eutelsat defines the order some diseqc switchs should be put:
Receiver > diseqc 1.0 > diseqc 1.1 > tone switch > LNBs.

So, the correct instalation for your switchs/LNBs should be:
card > diseqc 1.0 port 1> tone switch> LNB1/LNB2
diseqc 1.0 port 2> LNB3
diseqc 1.0 port 3 > LNB4
diseqc 1.0 port 4> LNB5

Please try this setup to see if they works the way you expect.

henkie888: What type of 2 ports switch? Impossible use 2 diseq 1.0 switches because they use same commands and both switch port every time.
