What is PID
Packet ID, used to identify audio/video streams in DVB "Digital Video Broadcasting"
When should i use the PID Recorder?
to record e.g. a second audio stream or the hole transportstream (Video + all audio streams etc..)...

btw. there is a search function ...and its for free ;) ... type ´pid recorder´ in it ;)

thanks for your reply.

I have another question which i would like to ask.

When I change the channel language To English (in channel property) substitles appear in another language. How can I remove these subtitles? I tried clicking on the 'Subtitle On/Off' but they still appear.

Can I somehow add a language in the audio stream using the edit feature in the channel property?

Your help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers

maybe its transmitted thru a teletext page ...look in the channel properties..there you can switch it off (if this not work then it is within the video stream...no chance to switch off or change)or look whats avivable

Sure you can (if it exists and you know the value and and it was not detected automatically yet).

In the channel props you find a button 'Edit' beneath the audio ID.
Hit it, then go 'Add'.

BUT, as normally ProgDVB auto detects all audio tracks, try 'update' first / instead.
On some stations, audio IDs for extra tracks are only transmitted if in use.
Means, probably not found at scan time.

This also means, to not let that other audio track get lost again at next scan, set channel to not update.

Did not yet try over here, but AFAIK ProgDVB 5.x now can even read PMT automatically by option. That should also include new audio tracks.
