DVB T/S/C

Hi Mighty Gurus,

I wonder if the different DVB types (e.g. -T, -S, -C) are really different in hardware, or software only? I mean different in hardware if they employ different frequency ranges, encryption, compression, file format or whatever that matters FOR THE CARD. Or, are they just different because they use different CAM modules, or such?

Essentially, my question really is, theoretically could it be possible to use a DVB-S card in DVB-C mode, or vice versa?

Thx.

frequency ranges, signal modulation etc. are different...so if you want to receive dvb-s you need a card with a dvb-s tuner etc...
