How many glitches are normal?

Hi!

I use a Freecom DVB-T stick with progDVB 4.85.3. I record in TS format using the PID Recorder and clean it with PVAstrumeto. Even if Level and Quality here is always at 100 % PVAstrumento keeps to find 1-2 errors per movie and I have a short glitch in sound and a few blocks in the picture. Cause the Stick is new and I can still give it back I wonder if this is a normal issue with DVB-T, even if signal reception is good, or if the stick is defective. I have approx. 1 glitch per hour, regardless which channel or antenna position I try.

Thanks in advance,

Soju

This is not normal, but it does not have to be a hardware issue of that device.

Everything that occasionally touches the HDD you're either recording to or having the timeshift file on, might cause this, as well.
Think about a dedicated HDD for recording to, have it formatted as FAT32 (if any possible), keep windoze away from indexing that physical drive.
Don't allow your AntiVirus software to scan that drive in the background.
Don't have MS Office autostarted.

Generally, strictly avoid and look for everything, that may cause sudden CPU or PCI bus load peaks or HDD access.
