Have a hauppauge NEXUS-S card
I want to run in HARDWARE mode.
Trying to install ProgDVB 5.x
I get no On Screed Display.
How can I change this. I have clicked enable OSD, but still no OSD.
Additionally, seperate question:
Latest ProgDVB 4.88 = Crashes when I attempt to run with NEXUS-S in hardware mode.
What ProgDVB version would you recommend for me for hardware mode.
Thank You

Sorry, you will have to go for a ProgDVB version before the introduction of Engine2.
Engine2 does not support HW OSD anymore.
Nor does it support HW playout, uses ActiveMovie on the PC screen only.
I've already discussed with Prog about this. He told me, perhaps that features may come back with an Engine3, if ever.
Until then, Nexus / SS1 users should think about staying with older versions, below 4.86 (resp. 5.1x).

Juergen -
I have tried revisions below 4.85 from the download archive of this website.
However, most versions before 4.85 will NOT scan my satellite. They freeze the computer.
What version do you recommend I use from the download archives?
I have a Nexus-S REV 2.3
I have tried 4.07, 4.26, 4.38, 4.62 - NONE will scan the satellite. They freeze the computer.
Additionally - ProgDVB 5.09.2 (full install). last version with Prog DVB Engine 1.x.
Should not this give me OSD (On Screen Display)? It does not.

That's why I've put it in brackets when mentioning.
From my point of view, .NET is just another lame duck.
Anyway, what sattellite(s)?
I do remember, Prog tried a lot, to adapt to some specific NA related scanning issues, by this occasionally broke the scan for Europeans.
But the change log does not tell a lot on this...
Plus, the Nexus 2.3 has a new tuner, that's not supported by all drvier / firmware versions. This may keep you off from using really old versions, that base on SDKs older than TT2.17.

I do not understand the point you are trying to make above ^^^
Can you please elaborate?
I am trying to scan ECHOSTAR 7 = 2410

When changing over to the .NET platform, Prog had to throw much of his previous code over board and start to rewrite components completely.
Along with this, he obviously tried, to keep his structures simple.
Re-attaching things, that previously were integral components of the former Technotrend SDK, is not really easy, and this does not have a high priority for him, as most modern devices don't have hardware for this anyway.
Means, though ProgDVB once began with SS1 only, and all other HW compatibility was added later on, now it does not concentrate on the SS1 anymore, dropping it's special benefits' support more and more.
Well, the ressource hungry and slow .NET platform does not make things any better, on the user's machine.
You are not the only one wondering...

Juergen I have switched to ProgDVB ProgDVB 4.62.6 (full install).
This is by far the BEST version I have tested thus far for the Nexus-S rev 2.3
Its stable, I cannot get it to crash. And it works perfectly.
Thanks for all your help. And for anyone in the future with NEXUS-S rev 2.3 try this version in the download archives.
