Hi

I have Technisat Skystar2 v2.6d and the latest driver 4.4.1.
I have not installed all the softwares included along with the driver, rather just used the driver from the downloaded zip file.

Though I'm able to watch TV/radio with AltDVB and DVBDream, I'm NOT ABLE TO WATCH WITH PROGDVB latest 4.x version (without .NET requirement).

While I scan the TPs with does not scan the channels but there is no problem with AltDVB or DVBDream. They are running like champs. Whats the problem with progDVB ?

Plz help me for this progDVB problem.

My Config: WinXP SP2, SS2 driver 4.4.1, No DiseqC

Please try a version a little bit older, or wait for the next one.

We have a few reports about .SS2 not working with latest 4.88.4 and 5.12.4, but as Prog is on vacation for a couple of days, we cannot do anything right now.

Which latest version you are talking about ?
the .Net version or simple one (without .NET) ?
I prefer the simple release as .NET version is TOO CPU HUNGRY and takes more time initially

What CPU you have? 5.12 can more load CPU first 1-2 minuts on channels (for EPG process). After that must work like 4.x

I have AMD Atlon XP 2800+, MSI 128MB Graphics card, with 1 GB RAM and 320GB HDD. Hope its not a bad PC

Anyway, Yday I installed the new 5.12 version and it seems working now with my SS2 and 4.4.1 driver.

But I have another question why progDVB is not able to recognize AUTOMATICALLY the codecs and decoders installed in my pc reading from registry ? For ex, in my PC open source MPEG-2 Video decoder (by Gabbest) works fine with superb quality, But I'm not able to use that decoder with progDVB.

So plz guide me how to choose diffrent decoders of my own with progDVB.

In 5x you can enable "custom" mode in settings->options->direct show and select codecs.
