Device not started! ({BDA} no device) -- is the error I get when trying to start. What am I missing please? I just downloaded ProgDVB 5.12.06 onto my stock Gateway with Pentium 4 running Windows XP Media Center edition. Is there a conflict perhaps with the Media Center? I'm not overly computer literate

Thanx!

First of all, you got to have a DVB tuner.
And this one would have a name, for sure.
"({BDA} no device)" surely is not a tuner model or brand, this comment occurs if no BDA device is found. If a BDA based tuner is / tuning space registry entries are found, that entry changes it's name in a typical way.
WDM based hardware would require other - hardware specific - device files to work in ProgDVB.
Then, that hardware needs drivers to work, and normally it comes with an original application, that should be installed, set up completely and tested, then stopped, in many cases including an eventually autostarted DVB data application.
On MCE, there are several extra limitations, AFAIK.
As you are claiming to be an American, you should think about (registering and) reading at dvbn.happysat.org
They have a fine NA related section as well.
