Which ProgDVB do I need to view HDTV? Also, do you need a mpeg4 decoder and if so which one is the best to use?

Depends on the transmission.
Some HDTV may use MPEG2, other uses h.264 / MPEG4.
Some HDTV is on DVB-S transponders, others are on DVB-S2, requiring compatible tuners.

Generally, look at lyngsat.com for such details, on the bird(s) you can get.

And you will find this on the download pages:
You can use all base functions of ProgDVB free of charge without restrictions in ProgDVB Standart edition. Some additional functions, such as "Picture in a picture"(only in 5.x), AVC,H.264 and DVB-S2 support, work with several audio streams and some other, are available in ProgDVB Professional only.
For more, read over this board, also use the search function...

Hi, I wish to watch some HDTV channel, just to check my new monitor.

I currently have a "normal" PCI Skystar 2.

Do I need a new card, to watch channels on DVB-S2 Transponders ?

Can you tell me if exist some HDTV channel on normal DVB-S transponder (Astra or Hotbird) ?

Thank you very much !

SkyStar2 not support dvb-s2. HD over DVB-S must work.

For issues like this there are resources like satcodx.com
A direct answer here would perhaps you right now, but might irritate others later on.
HD situation is changing quite often.
And as my hardware won't do HD in any way, I wont do the searching for you now.
