No Transponders available for scanning?

Hi, I am just trying to setup latest 4.89.6, I can select my tuner card ,{BDA} DTV-DVBC 878 Digital Tuner Filter and then select azurewave (Twinhan), my card is a Twinhan DVB-C with ci,model 2031. I select my correct transponder file which works with v4.85.3 but when i try to do a full channel scan it finishes instantly with nothing found, I then tried individual transponder scan but in the drop down list their are no transponders available, I have even tried one of the provided transponder lists but get the same results.

I know that the tuner is working with this version as i copied the contents over from my working version of 4.85.3 channels folder and i can tune all of my channels correctly, Am I missing anything or have I found a bug?

The reson i am using v4 rather than v5 is I am using it in combination with DVBSBridge and I want to get latest version working befor their latest module release.

Many thanks in advance.

Last version of progdvb must work with all twinhan/azurewave products.
But you can use old bda.device file (from old progdvb).

PS: Any problem in scan transponder dialog? If manual set params.

Yes I have a problem if I scan manually, the only way i can scan an individual transponder is if i am tuned to an existing channel on that transponder (From my imported channel list), if I try and change the frequency manually and then hit the scan button I get zero on both strength and quality. There are no transponders to choose from the drop down list almost as though it thinks the transponder ini file is empty but i have tried quite a few of the supplied ones and no joy.

 EDITED

oops, seems i changed frequency to an empty transponder! I tried a known one and it did scan correctly so the problem is just the lack of transponders avaialable in the list.

Hello again, Have you got any idea why it isnt showing any of the transponders from the ini files when trying a manual scan? its like it thinks the files are empty.

You can copy old transponders file to new progdvb or edit it manual in text editor.

PS: What file?

Hm. Please try last 5.13.x . Same bug?

They all appear in latest 5.13.7 and i can do a manual transponder scan

But.. I have a similar problem to one i have in 4.85.3, I am unable to do a full channels scan because it seems to race through the transponders before it has time to lock on. I am able to scan all of the individual transponders though in the manual scan, so is there a way to alter the wait for signal time as well :)

I don't think DVBSBridge supports V5 so i will have to stick with V4 for now, at least i know i am not doing anything wrong.

In 5.x you can set delay for scaner (in last page of settings->options)
In 4.x this parameter only in ini file.

Hi, many thanks for the quick replies, Can you tell me where exactly i can find the delay settings in 4.x or the value i need to change. I have looked in ProgDVB.ini and nothing jumps out at me.

Add this manually at the end of your ProgDVB.ini:

Code: Select all

[Scaner]
AfterChangeTransponderDelay=2000
This is not a typo of mine, it's the code, that requires 'Scaner' ínstead of 'Scanner'.

You may vary the value according to your needs.

Hi tried the setting with 4.85.3 and it does delay scanning but it still doesnt find the channels even though signal strength and quality are there! I tried values upto about 10000 and even reinstalled, obviously 4.89.6 doesn't see my transponder list so i couldn't try that one but in 5.13.7 i changed the setting on last page and that one worked so i think i will have to wait for dvbsbridge guys to get a working version for 5.x.

many thanks, just thought I would give you an update.
