Hi, newbie here.
My current dish + set top box allows me to record one channel and watch the other at the same time. There's only one connector from the satellite dish to my set top box.
Can progdvb perform this function?

In ProgDVB Pro you can watch and record more one channel at same time.
You can test trial version from site.

To get two stations from different transponders at the same time, you must have two tuners.
Your receiver surely uses an internal twin tuner system for this.
To avoid misunderstandings, allow me to add this comment:
Two tuners on the same LNB cable can only work independently, if your system does not use any kind of switching, polarisation, band or position.
This is quite normal for Americans, but useless for most Europeans.

Thanks for all the replies
Okay, my understanding is to record and play simulteneously i'll need 2 tuners == 2 connectors, OR 1 internal twin-tuner == 1 connector, is this correct?
Are there any PCI satellite dvb-s tuners with twin-tuner system on the market?
Or otherwise, if i use 2 normal satellite tuners (1 connector each), will i need a splitter of some sort to split the 1 connection from my only dish?

PCI-E Lifeview for example. But most products DVB-S+DVB-T for example. I am not know card with 2 dvb-s.
PS: Fom one transponder you can watch 2 channels with one card. Alt+click in progDVB Pro.

Americans, that do NOT use any kind of switching, can also connect a second tuner to a loop out of the first one, if exists.
This includes systems with (just one) band stacking LNB.
