Hi,

the last two versions (5.14.07 and 5.14.08) show a nasty problem: RTL-Television and VOX are loosing the sound (not during normal display, but when selected). Sometimes it helps to do something with the timeshift, more often i have to rescan the transponder.

Everything else is working fine.

My hardware: Intel 6750, Asus P5K, 2GB, Pinnacle DVB-S PCI, XP SP3

Hi,
today i have upgraded to version 5.14.9.
RTL, VOX, Das Erste, N24 and some other channels come up with no sound and/or with no picture. Im every case the problem can temporarily solved by a new scan of the transponder. I tried several audio-decoders and changed to VMR-9. Nothing really helped.

Has anyone any ideas?

Kind regards

.

1. Try rename or remove empgpdmx.ax file.

I've seen, some other guys have the same problem!
Since I've renamed that .ax - file, picture and sound come up always, but when a channel is running for a while, sound starts to stutter. After a while it seems to reset, but sometimes sound and picture are more than 2 seconds apart. This did not happen before i renamed the filter.

kind regards

alex

The problem of sound and no video or no sound and video is continuing in version 5.15 professional. The restart Progdvb solve this problem.

Hi,
yes, it's true. Restarting brings sound and picture. But who wants to restart every time when a channel is changed?
It also works after rescanning the transponder. In some cases it helps to operate the timeshift-function. But not often. But its intresting, the problem comes up only on a few channels, but always the same ones.

I've tried different codecs, video renders but no different sound driver. I did not find a newer version. Sorry. Also the pinnaccle-driver seems to be the latest version.

Try to find out, if there is anything special with that stations, like audio mode or data rate, video resolution or whatever else. Also find out, if this perhaps causes use of another codec combination, compared with most others.

Things like this must have some technical reasons, but there's no other way to get any closer, than providing details, details and details... ;)

Hi Juergen,

thanks for your reply.
Sorry, I can't find anything special on RTL Television, VOX, Das Erste, ZDF and sometimes ntv. All other channels work fine.
My windows xp pro was updated last time in march.
What else could be checked? Will it help to check differnt codecs and report, which pin - errors are reported? Currently i use the following setting: custom mode not checked, graph by xgr file set all to elecard, video render set to vmr-7, audio settings: default direct sound device.

When i check custom mode and look for a different audio-setting, i find really a lot of possible selections. 8 different cyberlink, some nero, some pinnaccle, main concept, and so on. Could this be the source of the problems?

kind regards,

alexander

Most of those are prepared, but probably don't exist on your system.
However, do you have the choice, to not select any codec, which would then use system default?

today installed and tested ProgDVB 5.15.1. The sound problem is still not fixed.
