Hi there,
I updated from V. 4.85 to 4.91.3. Now I can't open mpeg files recorded with the new version with "tmpeg encoder" any more.
I can play them -but tmpeg won't open them. V. 4.85 files work fine.
What is different in the new files?
cheers
Matthias

You may as well contact TMPGEnc people, or look for a possible update or patch for their soft.
Also possible, to try another tool first, to correct a few basic problems of DVB recordings, like false file header data, time code ussues and alike.
Look for PVAStrumento or projextX, for example.
This is not about full re-encoding then, but just fast file structure reworking, remuxing and similar.
After this (if successful) almost every video reworking software should work fine.
Quite often, even just de- and remuxing does help, like with the mpeg tools of TMPGEnc.
MPG files from DVB applications may not olny differ on headers (caused by software),but they may also contain transmittion based errors, that may still allow live TV and even playback but cause severe trouble on reworking. This for, recording requires a reliabe good signal quality.
