Meanwhile stand alone IP radios are sold everywhere.
They must have some sources for their station lists.
Perhaps someone can sniff relevant traffic of such a device ?
However, stream types would surely be an issue, due to two reasons:
- like known from Peal Player and Quicktime, for example, many stations are streaming in formats, that require special browser plugins or proprietary player software
- many internet access providers are filtering out some stream types or even complete protocols, to limit users to their own media services, one would have to pay an extra fee for...
The second issue may have kept all my recent tries failing yet, to get access to any world wide IP TV service yet...
That's nasty, as I've got 6656 kbps netto downstream here, enough even for many mpeg2 video streams
