hi Prog and all

first of all....sorry about my E.
Hardware: Skystar 2 TVPCI 2.8 ver.
Well, One of my friends has a dish with dual head. it's positioned to thor 2,3 and intelsat 10-02 because he pays for DIGI TV. the problem is that he has no signal on the card at all. I don't know why. The sat box is OK.
I have the same hardware, and I use progdvb. I have no problem with the program. I can watch everything. I've tried my configured progdvb on his computer but nothing. I got no signal. i have no idea what I should do.
My steps: 1. I set up the card in device list. Skystar 2...no error.
2. I set up the Diseqc and providers like this: Diseqc: None. after that, Add LNB...Thor 2,3 Intelsat 10-02...OK.
and the last step...I wanna search the channels. and the program scans but finds nothing. I do not understand why.
It doesn't work any kind of programmes. because there's no signal. dish is ok. he can watch DIGI TV on the tv.

try to help me please

.

At first you must install last driver for skystar2

Thor 2 is listed at 5°E and reported to not have any broadcast services on it anymore.

Thor 3, Thor 5 and Intelsat 10-2 are co-positioned at 0.8°W, so they can be accessed with the same LNB, at least regarding their Ku band services.

Means, your friend would normally just use one LNB, of Universal Twin Ku band type, DiSEqC = none would be correct then. And at least LNBs for the European market should work with default settings for LOFs and switch value.

This would then be a Twin LNB (at least), providing two independent user ports, not a dual feed unit, commonly also known as dual head or monoblock LNB.

Prog is correct, the latest HW revision 2.8 of the SS2 requires the latest driver, as it's tuner differs from older revisions.

In any case, no signal means, get the original application working first, before trying 3rd party software.

the latest driver is installed. in device manager the driver is OK. It shows no error. I've tried the original program but I didn't find the right transponders because in the TP list is nowhere Thor 2,3 & Intelsat 10-02 satellite. Of course I know I have to update the TP list. I've already done in progdvb but in the original program what he's got there I don't know how to update it and because of not updated TP list I can't use the original program.
As I said this progdvb works fine on my computer

updated: I was able to update the TP list in the original program. but nothing found.

updated2: I gave it up, thx for your helping

In ProgDVB, like most other DVB applications, the satellites are sorted by their position over the equator. And the .ini names are tenth of degrees East.

I already told you to forget about Thor 2. It's history. Look for Thor 3.

You will find the satellites on 0.8°W listed in a file named 3592.ini
And that's not just the file to use, but also the one to update occasionally.

Each .ini file also contains a line for displaying the satellites included, it's content will be displayed in the LNB options dialogue.
INI files are edited with the Windows internal Editor / Notepad. File in fact contains plain text, with a - more or less - self explaining format.
Just look inside of a few, to understand.
Files from some applications may use kHz for frequencies, others perhaps MHz instead, but that's easy to find out and in case edit.

Don't give up that fast...
