How to get traffic smaller for Prog Media Server streaming

Hi
I'm trying a little bit with ProgDVB and Prog Media Server/Client.
By doing this I notice that it needs about 4MBit to stream.
My question is: Is there a possibility to resize/recode Video and Audio before streaming to client to get traffic smaler?
What do I need for it and how will it work?
Hope someone has any idea
