Dear Sir,

I've got a registered copy of ProgDVB 5 Pro.. Still couldn't use the picture-in-picture and record in background features.. These options are always grayed!! What are the requirements to use them?

Please enable PIP mode on first page of Settings->Options.
Also channels must be from one transponder.

Hi,
same Problem here, the Options are grayed out.

There is no Option to specifically enable Pip, just the Option concerning Graphs. I tried both Possibilitys but nothing works.

Did i miss anything :?: Please help...

kind Regards

What options grayed? What DVB card you have?

Hello,
i have Skystar 1 running in Softmode. Not the Option is grayed out but the MenuEntry named "Open in New Window" when you right click on a Channel. Similar Alt+Click does not work.

kind Regards

I have SkyStar 1.. PIP is working fine with me... Here's how you can enable it..

Settings --> Options --> General --> Independant Graph

Right-click anywhere in your channel list and select "Channel List Properties"

Choose: Group by "Transponder"

Click OK

Open one channel from any transponder
then right-click any channel from the same transponder, you'll find that "Open in new window" option is enable and you can watch PIP.

Record in background is also working fine...

However, if you are using a card sharing server you can't use PIP feature to watch two scrambled channels.

Hello,
thanks for trying, but it still is grayed out. But it's not that important anyways. Maybe it's because i'm using CI with AlphacryptCam? But it's not working on free Channels either. Maybe my Card is just cursed

kind Regards

1. NO!!! SkyStar1 (Nexus) not support one one channel at all. I think you have other card with same name.

2. You can use pipxx directores for more one copy of plugins.

The Technotrend SkyStar1 Premium / hauppauge Nexus (and similar) do all the stream filtering in hardware, even if used in software mode.

This for, the number of filters available is very limited. Not enough, for example, to access two audio streams, plus two video streams, plus two EPGs, plus transponder system stream(s) and so on...

And some HW filters aren't freely available, but fixed to some hardware internal ports, and can't be splitted to more than a single target. Others could be using the same ID, once for internal purposes and at the same time for the PCI bus, but then also occupying two stages.

Linux VDR people played around with HW filters a lot, to bypass some limitations, but for this they had to disable other important streams. And they do already have an optimized firmware, that won't work under Windows...
