Progdvb freeze on aspect ratio/format change

Hello all,

i am using progdvb version 5.16.02. It works fine so far.

BUT

most TV stations here do not send in 16:9 continuously. At least during the commercial break, the ratio switches back to 4:3 and after the commercials again to 16:9. I noticed that sometimes this change causes the video to "freeze", while the tv sound is normally ongoing.

It is only a video freeze (not a program freeze). Strangely it happens not every time and it occurs in both, full screen and windowed mode.

if this freeze occurs, i need to close progdvb (alt+f4) and when i re-open it, it works normal until one of the next format switches.

Is there a solution to this?

i am using a lenovo thinkpad T61 with up-2-date drivers (intel mobile graphics). Below is my msconfig output of the vga section. I think it must be a problem with the vga card/driver.

progdvb runs in vmr 7 mode (others do not work) with the elecard decoder.

I hope that somebody knows a solution to this.

thanks!

You can try change video render or video codec.

hello prog,

thanks for the reply. i will test this. are there any known problems with Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipsets?

there are many laptops with these GPUs and i wonder if only i am affected by this problem...?

using another codec than elecard (i thignk i remeber i did this once) caused the tv video to stutter a bit...

Hi there,

seems it was the elecard codec. since i am using another codec i did not encounter any freezes. however, i did not watch tv often in the last weeks. i will post another reply if the problem re-occurs.

regards
