Hi guys,

i have a problem with my new TV-card. I've read the "How to report problems"-thread and i hope to give all necessary information.

- My ProgCVB-Version is 5.16.2 English
- My TV-Card is a WinTV Nova-HD-S2 PCI from Hauppauge with the latest driver (2.122.26109.0 from 18th April 2008)
- My OS: Windows Vista 32bit German all necessary Updates installed
- reboot, new installation of software and drivers didn't work
- the original software (PowerCinema 5) doesn't recognise the card that's why i tried ProgDVB

I hope it is a configuration and no hardware problem. But if you have serious guess that it might be a corrupt card, please do not hesitate to articulate your idea. I'm still in the period to take the card back to the store!

I made these screenshots to illustrate my problem (made with the German Language file):

I thank you for your advice in advance! If you need further information about my system settings or configuration feel free to ask!

Without the device working, everything else is no wonder at all.

Is the original software bundle told to work under your Vista version?
If so, either the hardware or the driver may have failed.

Thanks for your answer.

The card is meant to work under Vista and the driver is the only one available. So maybe the card (the hardware) is corrupt?

I tried this before, but did not work!

Now I try to change the PCI-Slot. That`s my last try, then I should send the card back, shouldn't I?

Exactly.

That thing is told to have to and therefore MUST work with the original software, else it's dead.

thx for your help.

I tried another PCI slot, but this time the OS didn't even recognized the card. I`ll send it back.

Let's hope the best for the next one.

Problem fixed - it was indeed a hardware issue.
