Only seven channels...

I'm baffled!
I have a cheap £35 satellite box. Its is a LME DBA DVBS.
It was supplied with a .device file for progdvb so I was very hopeful.
I've set up for Astra 28.2 and hit scan. the result is over six hundred tv channels found, no radio, no other. All 600-ish are the same seven repeated many times. When scanning the frequency of the transponder changes but it always finds the same seven channels
Please help! Thanks, Andy.

Are all that channels on the same transponder?
Compare with satcodx.com to find out.
If so, that .device seems to not be able to tune (properly).
So you may want to try to tune manually, starting with a(nother) transponder or two, that carrie(s) BBC or ITV FTA stations.
Inform us on everything you can find out, like exact origin of that .device file, perhaps a download link, level and quality readings, complete parameters of that working transponder(s) and alike.

Hello,
Yes, all channels are on the same transponder (10788.00 V). Manually setting another frequency has no effect, same seven channels on all frequencies!
The .device file was supplied on the driver disc for the receiver, which I have since discovered is a DM04. Once I discovered the model I googled to find that almost nobody can get them to work, just my luck!
Can you help, please?
Andy.

Forgot to say that signal level is about 80%, quality about 75%
Thanks.

Strange, really strange...
That stupid thing seems to not want to tune at all.
Though, 10788 is not the lower tuning limit, so something must have set the tuner there to.
Did you possibly leave the original software on that transponder? Try and compare with another one.
BTW, is that device file really told to be made for ProgDVB, if so, which version(s)?
However, PLEASE add all available details of that .device file, like full name, properties (version, author, original file name, ...).
And provide a link to the manufacturer's pages.
