hi
I have PCTV Sat Pro USB and it works great with progdvb.
Except that some channels are missing in the Nilesat 101 - 102
i did blind search after i did channel search then some of the missing channels appear.
when i did scan transponder , channels that already exist appear instead.
-------
NOte: i have
1- Arabsat (badr ) works fine no problem at all
2- Nilesat 101 - 102
--------
I used the PCTV Sat Pro USB with ProgDVB as {BDA} Pinnacle PCTV 4XXe Tuner

Either you don't have all valid transponder data to scan, or your signals are not really strong enough, or perhaps your LNB's LOF(s) need(s] a little correction, e.g. 1 or 2 MHz upor down.

This means, eiher you did not set up DiSEqC properly (according to the need sof your position switch), or you did not select the proper BDA patch in the device settings, or simply DiSEqC does not work with your device yet.
Generally, the new MS driver model BDA does not support DiSEqC natively. This for, hardware specific driver communication patches are required, that in many cases are not known in public (or sometimes even don't exist, like if the original software does not support DiSEqC).
Compliments go to Redmond, USA...

Check device options in ProgDVB, try out everything there.

Thank you
it works !!!!
Finnally , it works
----------
first it was set to auto (unkwon ) in the device options i treid them out all of them one by one ( i restart progdvb each time )
some of them show no effect , some reverse the problem ( meaning it gives me nilesat channels when i scan arabsat )
--------------
Terratec -- that what works properly
-----------------
However Minor problems appeared :
1-Randomly few channels show no picture but only audio , some mute
only .( the problem go when I restart the progdvb )
2-Before I used to play the recorded files so easily by
Realplayer ,windows media player or any other players . Now it would not play at all Except by Media player classic .
what happens ? ( i only have Divx and Xvid codec installed )
-----------
Thank you agian

MPC brings it's own set of codecs, that's why it plays almost everything.
Means, you should look carefully, what codecs are used by it, and perhaps install exactly those system wide.

problem appeared
I thought everything was ok , until last night i was recording a movie
later on when i opend the file , i found the first 30 Min missing .
the red circle was showing that it was recording from the start but accually it was not.
what should i do ??
----------
out of your experience
do you think SkyStar 2 TV PCI has problems with progdvb as much as this product has ??

ProgDVB should work fine with an SS2 PCI, as long as you have proper drivers.
Never heard of a problem regarding recordings starting to late, sorry.
Perhaps try another player for that file.
BTW, ProgDVB displays file size growth when recording.

There were some problems reported some time ago when recording while in timeshift mode. I do not know if it was fixed or not.

hi
the last problem of late recording is still happenning.
I think that it has something to do with the device option ( Terratec ) that i have chosen .
what should I do now ?

Watch the ProgDVB status bar during a scheduled recording, to see file size growth.
And if active, have timeshift set as close to real time as possible.
Change timeshift option for synchronous recording on and off and compare.
Disable EPG and TXT, if possible.
Never allow timeshift buffer to run into swap file. So reduce to a minimum.
And if set to file, place the recording path onto another physical drive, not just partition. If not available, add RAM and / or another HDD.
problem solved

The problem Solved
1--I reinstall progdvb
2--choose Terratec in the device options then scan both sattalites
=====
i think what cause the problem that i scan arabsat first then chose Terratec in the device options then scan nilesat.

sorry for the so late report
