random crashes

I've noticed for a while now since progdvb 6 - it crashes a lot more. No channel in particular but happens in numerous circumstances such as:
* In tray for extended period of times and doing other stuff on pc
* In tray and full screen stuff like youtube can even cause my pc to lock up and hard reset itself.
* Closing progdvb before allowing it to properly load
sometimes although it reaches up again - it has already told windows its crashed so if you are recording. That recorded file becomes corrupt and can be hell for editing.
my specs:
4800+ @ 2.4ghz
2GB ram
7900gtx
