How to handle ac3 if u don't know if it is ac3

Hi!
I use V 5.15.03 and the PID recorder service to record dvb-t as a ts-file. The recorder won't let me chose to record all pids so I have to decide whether I record the ac3 or the standart pid. But sometimes I don't know if the tv-show will be broadcasted in ac3 or not, so if it's not broadcasted in ac3 and I chose the ac3 pid I'll get no audio at all. Is there any solution? Sorry, but my english is not my best...
