hi folks--greetings from scotland--this question may have been asked/answered before but i cannot find it--if it has could someone please direct me to the link/post--
as long as i am watching a tv channel it all works fine---when i start recording a channel the video intermittently freezes after about 20 mins and the recording is thereby lost
restarting the progdvb resolves this but it then happens all over again
i have been using progdvb for donkey's years with my skystar2 but i have never been able to overcome this problem--any help/advice will greatly appreciated as i would like to be able to record sports--thanking you in anticipation--cheers

We did not get all to many details from you...
So for now, just some ideas:
- reinstall with timeshift disabled, or place timeshift file and recordings onto different physical disks (not partitions of the same drive unit)
- take care of disk quota, user rights and position of temp folder
- try the latest driver for your SS2
- try another codec and perhaps even renderer
Plus, what happens, if ProgDVB freezes? Are you still able to close the recording normally, can ProgDVB still be closed regularly, or do some HDD writing activities still continue for quite some time then?
What if you deactivate teletext, subs, plugins, everything non essential?
BTW, any 3rd party plugins involved?
Did you get any error messages, on or after the freezes?
How is memory usage?
What OS version, exactly?
Include some basic specs of your machine, please.
Perhaps fill in your signature...
Details rule.
There are tons of SS2 users around, of which most don't complain at all.
So there must be something wrong on your side.

hi Juergen &john--i have had time to investigate your comments and have reached a conclusion of sorts--
i am running the latest progdvb standard proggy with the latest drivers in my skystar2--all on their basic downloaded settings
i have just discovered that if i record free-to-air channels it will record for hours with no probs--it is only when i try to record encrypted channels ( that play perfectly well) that the recording starts to freeze after 20-30 mins
the conclusion is therefore that it is one of the addons which is producing the effect so i will probably have to live with it
thank you both for your interest and advice--cheers
