Hello to everybody!!
I'm new to progdvb and this forum, and my mother language is not english, so sorry for any mistakes.

I'm having some troubles using progdvb, when i viewing a channel the program keeps lagging and stuttering heavly. The video itself plays smooth, but the program interface is very unresponsive.

I had the exatelly the same issue in dvbviewer, and i circunvented it by disabling the level indicator in status bar

The level bar aways show zero in both progdvb and dvbviewer.

How can i circunvent this problem, please?

You should provide us with some basic technical details...

What tuner exactly do you use, what driver and Windows version?
What codecs / renderer?
What CPU, mainboard chipset, how much RAM?

What modules do you allow to run?
Any plugins involved?
Timeshift activated? If so, what are your related settings?

Okay, first i will try to clarify my problem: When open progdvb whithout any channel tunned, the program behaves normally, without any problem. But when a channel is tunned, the tv video is played smoothly, and the program window itself becomes unresponsive.

e.g.: When i click in a button or a menu it "hang" for 2-3 seconds to activate

I heavly suspects that my card don't informs the signal level correctly, because i had this same problem with others softwares

My tuner is (here in brazil) named "VISUS TV xtreme". I dont know if its a "renamed" imported product. I use the drivers provided with the product.

I tested it under Windows XP x32 and windows 7 x64 and the problem persists.

The brazilian hdtv standard uses h264 vor video and AAC for audio

The codecs i'm using are "Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder" And "Arcsoft Audio Decoder", I already tried various combinations of codecs, (ffdshow, arcsoft cyberlink, libfaad) some work, others not, but the unresponsivness still occurs.

My machine specs:
Intel core 2 quad 2.4 Ghz Q6600
4 Gig Ram DDR-2 800
Nvidia Geforce 9600GT
Motherboard MSI P7N-SLI Platinum (Nvidia nForce 750i chipset)

I'm using progDVB PRO 6.20.04 (trial version), without any plugin, just a vanilla install.

I hope I could be understood
:D

Pro version - so I can't really help you.

Anyway, to perhaps find a hint for hardware compatibility, try to locate the driver's .inf file(s). Then open it / them in your editor / notepad, scroll down to the end and hope to find more than one hardware / branding / model being mentioned. If so, post (just) that section here.

I've searched in the inf file and got that:

ProviderName= "Trident Inc."
MsftMfg= "Trident Inc."
TridVid.Disk1= "Install Disk"
TridVid.ServiceDesc= "U6652 USB"
;;;TridVid.DeviceDesc= "Trident Analog plus Digital Video"
TridVid.DeviceDesc= "VISUS TV xtreme"
;;;TridVid.Capture = "TridVid Capture"
TridVid.Capture = "Analog TV"
TridVid.AudioName = "TridVid Audio"
Tridvid.TvTuner = "TridVid TvTuner"
TridVid.Crossbar = "TridVid Crossbar"
TridVid.TvAudio = "TridVid TvAudio"
Triddtv.DeviceName= "Digital TV"
;;;TridDTV.DeviceDesc= "Trident Digital Video"
TridDTV.DeviceDesc= "Digital TV"
Audio.Name = "Audio"
Audioin.Name = "Analog Audio In"

I googled the GUIDs in the inf and found a driver with the same GUIDs and that in the inf:

TridDev.DeviceDesc= "USB Analog TV Device (TM5600)"

Hope this help!!
Thanks a lot! :D
