First of all, the driver matters, if it's WDM or BDA.
If I remember well, BDA module did NOT support DiSEqC in that days.
So in case use the normal WDM driver, or you had in fact to go for a modern version of ProgDVB.
Also the latest hardware revision of the SS2 may require a more modern version of ProgDVB.
Well, you did not tell us your hardware revision...
Anyway...
DiSEqC still is the same.
And LNB technology also did not change.
Just the transponder tables inside of ProgDVB are not really up-to-date.
But those can be edited or exchanged, to not miss anything (possible).
This was discussed here many times.
If it really is an old SS2, your tuner hardware does not receive DVB-S2, so you don't need to have that transponders listed.
Regarding LNB parameters, i.e. LOFs and switch value, default is correct for Ku band in Europe.
And position switching must reproduce your hardware setup.
If you are using three LNBs on a four port DiSEqC switch, set DiSEqC 1.0 controls according to that. First to last port (used) on the switch means top to bottom on the dialogue.
Actually we can't know, where your first, second and third (or fourth?) LNB actually point to. Surely you do...
