progDVB generates empty .ts-files on scheduled record

hello,
i am running the free progDVB 6.49.5 via a "MSI digi vox II" USB-TV-stick on a MSI U100 netbook (winXP), in order to watch regular and free DVB-T in Austria. direct viewing of tv-channels works great and quickly, but i have troubles with the scheduled recording. the recording starts at the right time and ends (also starts showing the channel in the interface and the record-icon is "on"), but the generated .ts-file stays at 0kb.
the only situation where the record starts (sometimes...) is when the right channel is already running.
i have read that such things may happen when a decoding codec is already used by some other program. as i run the program on a 100% MSI environment, this may be the case here. but what codec may be concerned and how to find out by what progam it gets blocked?
tkanks for hints,
greetings from Tyrol/Austria
