Hi there,

I just found ProgDVB when reading reviews and it seems to be THE DVB software out there.

Unfortunately, as soon as I start the installer, the setup crashes immediately when the License Agreement screen shows up (2nd screen of the setup process).

- I am using Win7 Ultimate (x64) german - Including latest updates from Microsoft
- I am using a Terratec T3 DVB tuner (although at this point of the setup - IMHO - the DVB card is most likely not involved yet)
- I tried different versions of ProgDVB (6.51.6x64, 6.51.6x64 (PRO Trial), 6.51.7x64, 5.16.2Std even 4.92.4Std). Always the same issue.

Would somebody be so kind and give me a hint where the problem might occur? Does the setup create any logfiles I could review? Does somebody have had similar issues?

FYI: I am a professional IT expert (maybe not the windows guru in person, but I have a very clear understanding of how things work on computers), so please don't bother with useless hints like "try to start with admin privileges". Of course this was one of my first approaches to get the setup running.

You can try install not in program files.

...means, into a folder outside of the "Programme" folder structure.
And try with administrator rights, perhaps.
Also possible, to try to install to somewhere inside of your personal folders, "Eigene Dateien\ProgDVB\" for example.

well.... the setup crashes actually before i can choose any location.

You're right, as this is the first page, that appears after confirming to start the installer.
So there must be some weird conflict source on your system, that has never been reported here before.
And that's why we can't really help you ATM.

Perhaps take a deep look into Windows Event Viewer = "Ereignisanzeige", to try and find some details on that surely system relevant event.
On German XP it's to be found there:
"Systemsteuerung" -> "Verwaltung" -> "Computerverwaltung" -> "~(lokal)" -> "System" -> "Ereignisanzeige"
Check all sub items there.
If far to full to read everything there, clear that protocols, reboot the machine and try ProgDVB setup once again.
This way you should find just a couple of entries, maybe a handful normal ones, that happen on every system start, hopefully plus the relevant one(s), which should also carry some important details.

If successful on this, please post your findings in full.
