Problems with diseqc

#1
Hi, Prog,
I have a motorized dish with three lnbs: C linear, C circular and Ku universal.
So I did a diseqc tree with first a diseqc 1.0 and then the satellites (some in port 1, some in port 2 and the rest in port 3).
I find some problems when i go to the diseqc 1.2 tab to configure positions. I select a satellite to move to, but find this errors:

1 - The diseqc message sent is not the expected, always port 1 of diseqc 1.0 is selected;

2 - When i select a lnbf the Ku port, the voltage is fixed, will not change when changing polarization (v/h transponders).

The Goto, step east, step west and store works well. There are some more problems, this above are the main.

I see that when changing channels everything is fine, this problems only in diseqc 1.2 panel. Using PROF 7301, win 7 32 bits, any recent version the same way. What you think of this?

Hi. As i'm hard to die, I made a diseqc analyser, to see what is sent by Progdvb.
Using ver 6.70.3, win 7 32bits, I did a diseqc tree for testing.
It has a positioner and then a switch 1.0, see bellow:
Image
Now, going to tab diseqc positioner, and changing satellites, lets see what are the messages.
Image
1- When I select sat 1 (StarOne C2 C), I spect this message:
E0 10 38 F0/F3 + E1 10 38 F0/F3 + E0 31 6B 01 + E1 31 6B 01
I Got this, its ok!

2- going to sat 2 (NSS806 C), i spect this message:
E0 10 38 F4/F7 + E1 10 38 F4/F7 + E0 31 6B 02 + E1 31 6B 02
instead, prog sent this:
E0 10 38 F2 + E1 10 38 F2
the GOTO message is missing, and the diseqc 1.0 port is wrong.

3- going to sat 3 (Amazonas Ku), i spect this message:
E0 10 38 F8/FB + E1 10 38 F8/FB + E0 31 6B 03 + E1 31 6B 03
instead, Prog sent this:
E0 10 38 F2 + E1 10 38 F2
the GOTO message is missing, and the diseqc 1.0 port is wrong.

4- going to sat 4 (StarOne C2 Ku), i spect this message:
E0 10 38 FC/FF + E1 10 38 FC/FF + E0 31 6B 04 + E1 31 6B 04
instead, prog sent this:
E0 10 38 F2 + E1 10 38 F2
the GOTO message is missing, and the diseqc 1.0 port is wrong.

5- going back to sat 1 (StarOne C2 C), i spect this message:
E0 10 38 F0/F3 + E1 10 38 F0/F3 + E0 31 6B 01 + E1 31 6B 01
I Got it, its ok!

It seems that the message for the sat number 1 is allways
correct, but not for the others. This is coerent with my first message on this topic.

Givin a better look, i see that the messages for sat 1 above are not correct, too.
It is expected first the GOTO NN then the set PORT 1, as in tree design:

E0 31 6B 01 + E1 31 6B 01 + E0 10 38 F0/F3 + E1 10 38 F0/F3

Noted it as the messages sent when changing channels are the way above, that is the desired. When changing channels all is ok, program selects satellite NN and port to lnb well.

Ps. Prog, please dont forget the issue with the fixed voltage when choosing a Ku band satellite, in Diseqc 1.2 tab.

Ok. Lets try understand all this. Using Diseqc tree above.
I go to Settings, Tv Sources, and select a port, for instance port 1 (StarOne C2 C).
Same tab I go to Properties, More than one satellite and put number 1 to the checked satellite. Close Properties.
Then I select the port 2 (NSS 806 C), click Properties, More than one satellite, put number 2 on the NSS 806 sat. Close.
Do the same to ports 3 and 4. This will work diseqc 1.0 and 1.2 very well when changin channel in the channels list.

Now I try to set motor positions. I click Positioner, and it opens tab "Diseqc 1.2 Positioner".
If i click the "Positions" button, i see it only imported the numbers of the Port 1 as configured above. :?: :?:
The problem here is that if i put more numbers in this "Position" list, it will change my diseqc tree, creating new positions outside the diseqc 1.0, and that's not what i desired.
Do you see the problem? When opening Positioner tab, i expect it import all the sat numbers as configured in Tv Souces, not only for one of the ports.

So my suggestion:
1 - Maybe better remove the Position button In Positioner tab, as it is altering TV sources undesirebly. Lets this tab only to adjust motor position, not for configuring sat numbers.

2 - And changing the label "More than one position" to "Diseqc 1.2 Config" will explain the actual function of that button.

Prog wrote:What problem with voltage ?
When in "Diseqc 1.2 Positioner", if i select a ku band lnb the voltage is stucked, wont change correct if change frequency (h or v).
I dont know if the 22k tone is changing properly

You may ask, so, how i configured the positioner and antenna, but it was with a standard receiver (Pansat).
Repeating, when only navigating trough channels lists and scanning, Progdvb goes fine.

Re: Problems with diseqc

Well, I only want that the messages sent in the "Diseqc 1.2 Positioner" tab follow the diseqc tree as designed in "Setting > Tv Sources". If they are not sent that way, hardly physical equipment will work as desired.
I have a motorized dish with a diseqc 1.0 with 3 lnbs. See picture above of tv sources, nearly same.

I dont use Usals. The table of the button "Positions" in "Diseqc 1.2 Positoner" is not the expected. It has only the sat numbers for port 1 of diseqc switch, but I need all numbers there, of the four ports. If I change this table, it changes the diseqc tree in "TV settings", this not desired.

Hi, i try to explain again, maybe more clear.
I have a diseqc tree in Settings > TV Sources this bellow for example. It has a diseqc 1.2 positioner, then a diseqc 1.0 switch and four satellites ou lnbs (i need only three lnbs: one C linear, one C circular and one Ku universal, they are all together in the same motorized dish).
I select one of the satellites, go to Properties>More than one satelite and configure the position (number for a satellite) i want for it in diseqc 1.2. Thats all. Now we can scan satellites then watch tv, IF the diseqc 1.2 controller is already configured.
Image
The problems are when tryng to setup diseqc 1.2 mechanical motor position. Have to go to tab "Diseqc 1.2 Positioner" and when I select the satellites or lnbs that are not the first (in the diseqc 1.0 port 1), when i go to the button "Positions" it shows incorrect satellites checked:
Image
Here you can see that i dont have the NSS 806 checked, but the IS 805. Trying to edit this list wil screw the diseqc tree in fist picture.
And the diseqc message sent when selecting the NSS 806 was wrong, as i showed some messages behind.
It is expected it was sent a message with a GOTO NN, then a select Port N following the path of the configuration in first picture.

Maybe some else had problems setting those motors and switches and can tell what he discovered :?:

Yes, I use that setup, so I can save 2 dishes (its a big dish). And here in America, the better channels are in C band :o
spread in both linear ou circular polarizations...
I did a fast test of version 6.70.6, and could not see any difference (seems only more of the same :) ).
This new series is useless til now, because of the AAC pin audio problem :(
