I want to record to an external source so that I can increase the storage space and also to remove it and play on a laptop

I am trying to configure an external drive for recording. When I chose it in the options and try to record I get the message "Recording error!No access for recording, Try another folder" I have tried both Fats and NTFS. My app permissions for ProgTV are on. I am using A95X box.
