ProgDVB SS1 Hardware mode: strange "pixelation"

#1
Repost from "old" forum, as kindly requested from Mod).

Let me show you what happens...
Several days ago I put another HD on my pc, to start a program and data migration and remove "old" one (I hate to change PC too often).
If I start OS from old disk progdvb (started from new disk) works in hw mode, if I start the "new" OS progdvb (the same, always started from "new" disk) pixelates (but's not best description of problem). I got a shot with my phone cam to make you see the problem (bad photo, I know...)

This strange effect is visible on panning scenes, or scene changes, on static images pixels disappear.

Next, I took a snapshot of all modules loaded from Progdvb process (working and non working) using process explorer and all modules are the same except: imm32.dll, lpk.dll, MSCTFIME.IME, usp10.dll (loaded from progdvb only on "new" OS installation, they are dlls to support chinese simplified)

I looked on system resources to see if ACPI was "mapping" irqs differently but no differences.

I have a SS2 too, but HW mode is good for me, to watch tv or listen radios while working with a small "footprint" and low resources usage, so please help me too. :?

Sorry for (most probably) bad english.

hi , maybe a pci timing problem

try this :

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SAA7146n\Parameters]
"PciLatencyTimer"=dword:000000ff

save as ´pcilatency.reg´ and doubleclick to import into the registry

Sorry I didn't say it before, it's 255 (0xff), "old" OS and "new" OS. Every key in registry is the same.
Another thing I can see is that "surface mode" image is broken (new os only).

I WAS WRONG!

Pci latency was set to 255 under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\...\Parameters but not under driver section (I really don't know why standard installation would place pci latency there, if it's not the right place)

Thank you Silencer.

I have the same problem. I upgraded my motherboard and graphics card. I had to reinstall XP too.
The suggestion doesn't work on my PC.
Are there any more ideas. I can see lots of ghosting, it's strange. Recording works well. My dvb-s device is a nexus-s too, used in hardware mode.
New graphics card is a PCI express card, the old one was an AGP. Both are nvidia gforce cards.

TT 2.19c ?
Using (forced) software mode then, I guess...
You can find out by changing codec relevant settings. If this effects picture quality somehow, it's software mode (for the PC screen picture).
