hd signal dropping out

#1
hi, hope its ok to start a new topic as this one might get some interest, i am not able to recieve hd s2, i can watch bbc hd no probs but as thats a dvb s channel, i am using latest probdvb 6 registered, i can switch from a normal sd channel like sky one with perfect signal over to hd sky one and nothing, no signal and its like that for all off them hd channels, i have tried win xp 32 latest drivers 1.1.1 700 and 1.1.1.500 same so i got in touch with admin thinking it was progdvb turns out my dvb mantis ad-sp 400 is an old card and drivers might be dodgy so this is how i come to installing win xp, i have tried differant motherboard also thinking its the chipset, also another graphics card, differant memory... same no signal on hd, i have 2 inputs from satellite dish also, 1 input direct from a sky minidish @ 28.2 good signal as ive checked with me meter, and other signal from 1.2 meter motorised also good signal @ 28.2.. so i dont think i can have 2 duff lnbs..

I have now formated pc again to make sure no drivers etc from old satellite card as i have now purchased a compro s350 with dvb s2, diseqc exactly the same problem ? loaded latest drivers from compro site goto sd channel sky one perfect goto hd channel no signal :(

any suggestions anybody ? im really stuck on this now

just to recap also i have tried vista x32 before i tried win xp nothing

cheers

hi prog, back with mantis ad-sp 400 mantis again now as i seem to be having more luck with this card, the hauppauge doesnt even find any hd channels, there is no explanation for the problem i have with the mantis card everything is upto date, it even happens when i use an earlier driver 1.1.1.000 i have tried both satellite dishes so i cant have a faulty dish setup.. when i first boot windows and select progdvb most the time on hd channels the signal is there but at any time the signal bars at the bottom can disappear and get no signal, its only dvb-s2 channels all others are fine... its liek the dvb-s2 driver or what ever is just stopping :( is there any way of updating the bda driver my version in progdvb is 1.60 and API is 1.33 in device also twinhan is selected,, does any body know if this card over heats or anything ? it just drops the signal at any time

help help getting to my end of teather with this now lol

hi, ive have learnt a lesson here, dont skimp buying crap get the best ive had a twinhan ad-sp 400 which looks identical to skystar 2 hd differance is technisat skystar 2 hd works mint cant fault it, it moves the dish, even shows hd without signal dropping out, as for the hauppauge 4000 well could not even get it to work with any hd channel apart from bbc hd which is not true hd :)

if you want a good card that does the trick, works first time moves the motor with usals, and dont wanna waste whole weekend with this could work, try this and that get a technisat skystar 2 hd, i dont work for them etc, but they have got it spot on..

btw prog your progdvb works just fine if there is any problems its due to some other driver, or software breaking it

oh and the technisat cost me £65
