Audio description normally is on the right audio channel of the main stereo stream. Receivers may (but not must) be equipped with an audio channel selector, that allows to select between left and right audio channel. Else users would normally select by use of the balance control or A/B audio selector on their TV.
As there is no flag for audio description transmissions, there's no way to select automatically, but keep normal stereo uneffected. So any user selection would theoretically have to be dropped after a channel or event change.
